Welcome to ABA-Consultancy. We deliver a service for parents, carers and professionals who need help, treatment or advice for children or adults in relation to behaviour problems. We work with children and adults who have a developmental delay, general learning disability, acquired brain injury, a specific learning disability or a specific diagnosis such as i.e. Fragile X, Autism, Syndrome of Down, ADHD or dyslexia.
Parents who come to us have tried many different ways to cope with their children, teenagers or adult-children and are usually at their wits ends because they feel they cannot help their child. They feel powerless and have been listening to other parents and/or professionals who have given them advice however this does not seem to work for them. Their child still tantrums, kicks, nips, bites, is not toilet trained, does not listen to them. Sometimes the list of behaviours of concern seems to be endless.
At ABA-Consultancy we use the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and its vast range of scientific research. Our aim is to help parents, carers and professionals to see beyond the behaviour of concern and to devise strategies to manage the behaviour and also to teach the child new more acceptable and age-appropriate behaviours. We aim to teach parents to help their child to develop to the best of their ability in areas such as communication, play, social interaction, school subjects, self-help skills or independent living skills.
